Meet the Inspector

Carl started NW WASHINGTON HOME INSPECTIONS LLC because of his passion for real estate. For the past 20 years, Carl has owned and managed residential rental properties in Georgia, Colorado, and Washington. Carl intimately understands all aspects of home construction and maintenance, as well as the buying and selling process, having himself experienced it more than few times.

Carl’s unique engineering background makes him a stand-out amongst the area’s best home inspectors. Carl retired from the Navy in 2012, after 22 years of managing, maintaining, and operating complex submarine mechanical and electrical systems. Carl's formal education is in mechanical engineering, holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Engineering from Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University.

Carl is trained and certified as a Home Inspector by the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and is a graduate of the ASHI School™. Carl is licensed by the State of Washington as a Home Inspector and is additionally licensed by the Washington State Department of Agriculture as a Structural Pest Inspector. Carl is a member of the Western Washington Chapter of the American Society of Home Inspectors, an associate member of the Kitsap County Association of Realtors, and a member of the Military Officers Association of America.

When not inspecting homes, Carl is usually working on his own home or spending time with his family. Carl and his family live on Bainbridge Island.
